Scarey stuff.  Are they safe doing those distances in that time???

I didn't stay long.  I saw the word "CRUISER" early on and took fright.       :eek

They'll need their hard arses.  That's phenomenal riding!!!

Awww, Biggles your tuff  :nahnah  :grin

We have guys here who wouldn't attempt 1600k in 48hrs, although it is easily reachable on our more than capable LD tourers....and you won't even need high beam to achieve it.

And no I hadn't heard of them until now......great to see anyone out riding on anything with 2 or occasionally 3 wheels  :like

A fairly easy challenge for a young bloke?... when I lived in Linton Street, Wooloongabba mid 70's, I used to leave at 1 am on Friday morning, arrive Whyalla SA at 11 pm Friday night, party with the mates Saturday, leave Whyalla 5 am Sunday morning and be back at the Gabba 3 am Monday, and back at work on Tuesday morning for 4 x 12 hour shifts at Albion Flour Mills.

2025 Km each way, I did this trip six times in 4 months, until I moved north to the coal mines at Blackwater.

Unfortunately, we ain't that young anymore

I'm not sure about the Aussie Hardarse in terms of the value of the certification, posting a couple of pics on facebook doesn't float my boat. But $45 for a t-shirt, a puncture repair kit, three magazines and a badge.....sweet :-). (I have a cruiser)

But, because this isn't FarRiders there is something out there for people who don't want to knock over an SS1600k called an Easy Rider at http://www.longdistanceriders.net/rides/
It's 805km in 12 hour ride which should be achievable for most on an ST with the right preparation and mindset.

The up side,  with the Long Distance Riders certification you can submit their forms or proper IBA documentation and it's certified properly. BUT you don't have to wait random eons for the certification to come through. The certs are nice, the patches and pins, if you like that stuff, are nice too.

And if you do a nice ride or want to write a little story about yourself you might even get a Member Profile article online (there's someone there this month that some of us know).

Now, to get that T-shirt.... :13Candy

Thats just a lunch ride here in the west..  Well we did an easy ride from Perth to Augusta for lunch and back home, about 740Ks. No prep needed apart from fuel and lunch money..

 o:)

The 1600Ks in 48  hrs is easily achievable, as the average is 33KPH. Must be geared for cruisers with a 150K range and 100K seat comfort zome   :popcorn :popcorn :popcorn

We used to make it an overnighter from Karratha to Kwinana (about 1575 km) without rushing it. About 18 hours riding time plus about 8 hours overnight stop.

Thanks for the link, Wom.  I hadn't heard of them.  I'm not rapt about their skeleton badges though.  I try to eat properly when I'm FarRiding and IBA'ing.    :grin

You can have your $45 cruiser T shirt, patch kit and badge.  The mags would be free anyway.    :p

Good to see Skidoooo getting a guernsey.  He works hard for his achievements.

I have done 3 easy rider and 1 full throttle ride.  :grin the easy rider 805 is usually done on a FarRide with lunch in the middle. Sent info to Ironbutt at same time for the SS1600 and sent email but no response as yet.  :CB-- This newish group appears mainly for magazine affiliation. Each to his own  :thumb

The American Hardass group requires 1000 mile/1620 km in 24 hours.  Don't know if this group is associated with the American group, but I wouldn't think the septics would accept a 48 hour time.

Biggles, I was getting into the CBA until I read the last paragraph. Now I'm disappointed.

As the man says- it's open for developing.  You could be President of the Australian Chapter.       ;-*
