I'm not sure about the Aussie Hardarse in terms of the
value of the certification, posting a couple of pics on facebook doesn't float my boat. But $45 for a t-shirt, a puncture repair kit, three magazines and a badge.....sweet :-). (I have a cruiser)
But, because this isn't FarRiders there
is something out there for people who don't want to knock over an SS1600k called an Easy Rider at
http://www.longdistanceriders.net/rides/It's 805km in 12 hour ride which should be achievable for most on an ST with the right preparation and mindset.
The up side, with the Long Distance Riders certification you can submit their forms
or proper IBA documentation and it's certified
properly. BUT you don't have to wait random eons for the certification to come through. The certs are nice, the patches and pins, if you like that stuff, are nice too.
And if you do a nice ride or want to write a little story about yourself you might even get a Member Profile article online (there's someone there this month that some of us know).
Now, to get that T-shirt....
