Finally, 45 days sans the Mighty ST1300, it was delivered repaired this morning. Yes it was slow, very slow, I'm not sure who is blame.
Youi was very good to deal with, they processed the claim (well verbally approved) within one day, the ST then had to be transported from Brunswick to Spotswood) to an approved motorcycle repairer,
Melbourne Motorcycle Fairings. They responded very quickly, but advised that the pannier boxes, lower sections were not available in Oz, they would need to be sourced from Japan, ETA would be 8 October.
Got advice yesterday that parts were delivered early, bike was ready, would be delivered yesterday. Alas, no one home yesterday to take delivery. Delivery guy from MMF had a neat delivery van, not sure what it was (I think a Renault, front wheel drive anway), and the internal rear section lowered flat to the ground. Very cool, very handy!!
No charge (excess waived due to driver a fault), also covered damage to motorcycle gear. I can feel a new helmet, jacket (no, not another OzSTOC jacket) and gloves, albiet only to the value of around $1,000, coming my way soon.
Anyway, back on the road this weekend, might see if I can make it to the Kossie Rally. Anyone interested in 1,000km ride Saturday and Sunday, a camp at Geehi Hut, a few beers and a lot of BullSh1t?
