Gday everyone.
I have a 2005 burgundy pan.
Got it about 3 years ago.
Its got 130000kms on it so barely run in.
Great bike and surprisingly agile for its weight
Had the dreaded F25 but replaced the knock sensor and plug and it went away so there is hope if anyone gets the fault.
It didnt seem to affect the bike at all but annoyed me when the light came on.
I was glad the ECU appears to be OK as I hear they are rarer than unicorn poo.
Unfortunately another issue has raised its head.
I went to start it up about two weeks ago and it turned over but wouldnt fire.
I'm getting spark but the fuel pump wont prime.
The pump works OK (replaced it recently and tested it), the circuit is good - the 12v goes back to the ECU. The relay tests and functions correctly when 12v applied but doesnt when put back in circuit. Have discovered that the ECU completes the circuit by switching the circuit to ground. It doesnt appear to be doing this as all grounds appear good - tested wiring from ECU direct to battery negative and circuits good.
Does anyone know of anything else to check eg the HISS system, as I have heard that faults with that will allow the bike to crank but not start.
I have found some wiring diagrams but Im assuming they are for American versions as they dont have HISS and the wiring to the ECU on my bike has four extra wires which are not on the diagrams.
Does anyone have any idea which wires to the ECU are related to the HISS?
Can a scan tool be used on this bike through the four pin comms plug under the seat?
Any help would be greatly appreciated as I spoke to my nearest Honda dealer and they werent interested in a bike that age.
Cheers,
Bill
