I've had 2 covers on my ST1300 (with top-box). The first was an RJays - quite heavy and lined with a fabric. I wanted to make sure it didn't "rub" the tank and take paint off and hence wanted the lining (which made it heavy/bulky). However, the good 'ole Perth sun baked it badly (even just early spring), so I wouldn't recommend that for SA either.
I then picked up a cover from the dealer that sold me the bike. This is a silver looking fabric impregnated with an metal-based paint I think (to give it better UV protection). Paintwork isn't a problem since the height of the top-box and the windscreen keep it from contacting the tank anyway. As it's not lined, it packs to about 1/3 of the space of the original RJays too.
I've just popped into the garage and checked it out. Unfortunately there's no brand name mentioned on it or the bag. I reckon if you ring Rockingham Powersports (08 9527 5093, ask for Jenny) they'd tell you what exactly it is so you could hopefully source it in SA.
To fit the ST with a top-box it's actually the XL size, which is big enough for a Goldie. It's a little too loose in high winds as it can flap about a little, but given there's an elastic cord and hook to hook it underneath it's not a problem.
I'm definitely happy with it.
