Apple upgrade
« on: October 14, 2015, 08:55:49 AM »
Has anyone upgraded to El Capitan OS?
I'm on the verge of doing it too but curious to
hear of others' reviews (on here)

I've put it off for now, a colleague upgraded a week or two ago and found no real-world gains (for us anyway), apparently there are a few other 0.0.0.0.1 type updates coming, so I'll save my 6Gb(!!!) download until then...

My current system is Lion, and see there's been 3 upgrades since mine, and considering this one has only been out since the end of last month, I wondered if anyone else had downloaded it, so will take your advice Steve (thank you) and wait for the first fixer upper.  :thumbsup

Yosemite was a great update, if you can update to that, I'd recommend it, somehow seems to trim down the processor use of big programs. It has really sped up the laptop when I'm working mobile

Thanks Steve, I had wondered about upgrading to something else, so I'll see how I go.
I'll let you know hope it works out.

You could try:
http://www.macupdate.com/app/mac/48498/os-x-yosemite
:fp That took me back to the Mac app store which keeps telling me Yosemite is no longer available - I wonder if they're trying to tell me something  :grin

Hmmm, dang, sorry. Have a search around, it's sure to be somewhere other than the App Store... In fact, I 'may' have the instal file saved somewhere... Let me check when I fire up tomorrow
