No Kids....
« on: October 18, 2015, 09:40:20 PM »
Teela and  I Worked today, me doing a Hip Pocket Display and T doing her facepainting magic...

So the grandparents had the kids. while we where working, but....we got home an hour early, so it was throw everything in the door, bike gear on, and down Murphys creek to the pub for a cold one and listen to the world go by...

Even got to test the new helmet holder!

then it was a loop around and home, in time for the kids to return, and the world to return to normal

even had a late visitor (Wild Rose) to come and check out the new STeed in the STable, I will let Leo tell you in his own words, but he seemed impressed with the STrom!

Bike performed well, even smoother since the service and new rubber  :thumb

Well I am impressed with Streaks new V Strom, I have always liked them but for now won't be giving up my ST1300 for quite a while
I was chatting with a work/ride mate recently that as we get older we may have to down size because of the weight of the bigger bikes but as I am just as boy compared to a few on OzSTOC

Well back to Streaks V Strom. Over a cup of tea we went out to the shed for a look, it is a good size bike to still be able to do lots of touring on, The previous owner had fitted road tyres to it which would make it a lot smoother than on duel purpose tyres
A good size fuel tank that would get you between 400-500 km, it has a gel seat which I am sure would be much better than standard The seat is a good shape to do a long day on, good upper fairing with a small screen I think I would have to fit a taller screen for me
Panniers and a top box for the longer trip I think we are spoilt with the ST set up.
The lack of off a lower fairing would make it good in summer cold in winter but not so good on a wet day
After sitting on it for a while to the feel of it Streak took it off the centre stand and placed it on the side stand, he asked me to try to put it up on the centre stand with very little effort up it popped I mustn't be as strong as Diesel as I didn't throw it out the garage door but was impressed with the ease of it
Having not ridden a V Strom I can not comment on it's handling or power but the Spanner man was asked once if he had to buy one bike to ride around OZ it would be a 650 V Strom

Nice bike streak, I was looking at the storm a while back. Bought a dr650 k6 for the Simpson trip in 2017. Still have my beautiful St1300. Going around Aus next year.
Cheers
