A ride home from Adelaide would be a nice way to settle in to your new Wing Sabie

Well I'll be!!

Look what turned up in my garage!!

Brian has keep it under his hat, but I collected it over 2 weeks ago and stored it in the garage of the new house we bought as the previous owners were in the last stages of moving out.

It sat there until last Saturday night when the Bigglet hurdled onto the back for a ride to dinner on the Sandgate foreshore.
A few observant types in here saw my planned FarRide to Texas on it.  Unfortunately the demands of selling a business and a house and moving into a new house overwhelmed me, so I had to pull out.

Ruby will be staying for some time- probably going to Perth in March.  She's done so many kays now a quick run across Oz won't make any difference.

No bias in that opinion!      :grin

Thanks Rosie.

Hey Brian

It's not about a matter of snoozing .... I don't have an income like you guys, after a lifetime of saving I'm living off what my lifetime savings makes in interest from investments. These investments aren't something you can just go to a teller machine and withdraw it takes time, and withdrawing means a recalculation in interest means a recalculation in the home budget etc. Its not that I'm poor or struggling, it's about being careful and patient there's enough money to buy a Goldie, but due to my situation things move slower....

I'm too crook to work (apparently)
I'm too young to access my superannuation for retirement (I'm only a boy at 52 yo)
I have to much in savings to draw any type of Government benefit.
And my Wife works full time but is about to semi-retire next month to work 2 days a fortnight (this has been our food and walking around money)

I have applied to have my Superannuation released on the grounds of terminal illness, but that too takes time, I've been in Government Super since I was 18 so there is a nice nest egg siting there. But the wheels of democracy move slowly (in the hopes that you'll kark it in the mean time making it easier to start the next fight with your next of kin (I suppose)

So a Goldie may be purchased it may not it's in the lap of the Gods depending on what other blessings life has to bring me....

Hey Sabie
I didn't expect a response from my tongue in cheek reply to your (as I took it) humorous jib at the cashed up ozSTocers.... I'm sorry you felt you needed to explain yourself....wasn't my intention.
All the best on your quest
Cheers Brian

Hey Brian .. no offense taken by me, but because I've missed around half a dozen goldies I thought I'd just explain my circumstances. I'm not worried about people knowing of my diagnosis and related illness most ozstocers know.

But onward and upward, I'm not letting that stop me. So don't  feel bad Brian I took everything you said as tongue in cheek and freindly banter..

Save your money!  It's a STOC Rally, so the ST attends.  I'm like that.
But apart from that, I'd much rather put the kays on Ruby than Bluey since another 10 thou or so won't make any difference to her but would be significant on the Wing.
