Apart from Leo and the birthday thread, only 2 personal emails with birthday greetings for the day, and one terse two-word text message from the ex partner. I guess I belong to the forgotten few, and yes, it rained on my birthday as well.
As the weather seemed fair yesterday morning, I decided to tootle off for my birthday. Headed northwest around 10.30 am towards South Australia, and as I approached Mt Gambier I could see dirty weather approaching. Pulled into a servo and donned the wets around ten minutes before it started coming down, not real heavy, just continuous. Peeled out and headed northeast to Casterton, dropped into friends home at Sandford just after 2pm for coffee and a break from the rain for an hour before heading for home. Arrived home around 4.45 pm. A bit less than 400 km for the day, but 3/4 of the trip was in medium to heavy rain with poor visibility, so speed was reduced to suit the conditions.
Locally, rainfall reported as 6.4 mm, altho further north was a bit heavier.
The day hardly seemed worth the bother, so I fed the cats, turned on my lekky blanket, and went to bed shortly after 5pm
Looking at the map below, I see the left profile of a gorillas' face with a pouting lip.
