Difficult Birth

After a lenghty gestation time of nearly 11 month (more then a human but less then an elephant) my Rostra Cruise Controll is operating succesful.
This gestation time included procastination, frustration, persistance and luck (a friend built me a signal divider).
If anybody has some question please ask then soon. I may forget this affair easy. As soon as the coming heat wave passes I will make a trip to explore the benefits of CC. Thanks to all of you I have pesterd or spunged of your knowledge recorded on this forum.

Just about to undertake installation of a Rostra unit so I already have a question or two.
1. Do you have any information (pictures, drawing...) of the throttle lever installation and adapters etc.
2. Where did you mount your control unit. I have seen a couple of suggestions of rear underseat area and inside of the headlight cowl, but I understand that it requires some messing around to get the switches set just right so it needs to be accessible.
3. Where did you get the pickup for the speed sensor. Magnets or the internal VSS pickup?. Interested in the signal divider, do you have the cct diagram?.

I used the signal from the speedo divided it by 4 and the unit sits in the left pie warmer and is easy accesably for the switches. For the throttle link I used and alu wheel with a socket glued in to work on the butterfly nut. I have some pictures if needed.

Thanks Alf,
I got mine installed and working satisfactorily thanks to help from another forum member (tremarg). I used his 2:1 divider idea and now the bike runs well with only a minimum of over zealous acceleration and overshoot.

Which location did you use for the unit? Just for curiosity.

I put the control unit in the upper cowl behind the headlight adjuster and trip meter controls, then ran the control cable across the intake air chute and in through the frame on the RHS. It was somewhat difficult to change the switches when initially setting up but works well now.
I used the Rostra control button unit and sealed it all with silicon once I was happy with its operation. Its not a very solid unit and I find that I have to use the down button to engage the cruise, but after that it all works ok.
