Visitor to my Garden
« on: February 14, 2016, 07:42:44 AM »
We had this bloke grunting around the place last night, and he's moved into a tree in our front yard for the day.   It's wonderful that we can often see them in our suburban neighborhood trees.

yes, its probably very hard for them to find a decent home when us humans are taking their habitat and cutting down all their trees, nice to see though. My old place had a whole family living in the trees in my yard, BUT neighbors complained about the noise so the council (In their STRANGE wisdom) took them away  :o :'(  :well :-(((  Even the little ones would come down and wander in the yard :thumbsup

Very common in the area where I live... Regularly have them on the footpath/in a tree at my driveway
... and I live in the main central shopping block in town!

This lil fella wandered past some people having a coffee on the footpath last year. See link below

Obviously just visiting.  It doesn't look much like a Gum tree.

We had this bloke grunting around the place last night, and he's moved into a tree in our front yard for the day.   It's wonderful that we can often see them in our suburban neighborhood trees.

Don't let him move in permanently.  They can strip a tree given enough time.  Give the tree a chance to recover and give him a call for a return visit.
You would have seen the Gums around Cape Otway.

Pretty amazing that they're so tame.
For the modern man who lives in the city, riding a bike might be one of the only ways to escape the humdrum monotony. To take off and ride. To be both at one with nature and one with the bike. To feel masculine. Adam Piggott

They are not fussy about gums, except at feeding time... any tree in a storm so to speak, to avoid dogs, pedestrians, cars...
