Observations on Aging
« on: April 07, 2016, 08:21:20 AM »
*   Eventually you will reach a point when you stop lying about your age and start bragging about it.

*   The older we get, the fewer things seem worth waiting in line for.

*   Some people try to turn back their odometers.   Not me!
I want people to know why I look this way.
I've traveled a long way and some of the roads weren't paved.

*  When you are dissatisfied and would like to go back to youth, think of Algebra or Calculus.

*  One of the many things no one tells you about aging is that it is such a nice change from being young.

*  Being young is beautiful, but being old is comfortable.

*  First you forget names,
    then you forget faces.
Then you forget to pull up your zipper...
It's worse when you forget to pull it down.

Pete there's alot of truth in that. I have never really worried about aging, but the biggest issue is health catching up too  me. Most of it manageable though...

I never brag about my age - haven't cared for birthday related stuff since 40 though turning 66.5 (in 6 years time) sees me going on the Pension instead of looking for non-existing work on Newstart.

Never had an issue with Algebra/Maths either but English was a pain in the butt.

I don't do drugs but every year or two sees me having another one to added to list what I take.

Not sure if I should say thanks or not, but thanks for reminding me.

If various illnesses and ailments torment us, I am reminded that the alternative is not an improvement. ;-*

I have never had a 'do' for my birthday since I was 21... but I did go to dinner at the pub for my 50th. Never 'celebrated' a birthday since? ... IMHO it's just another day?

Like everything else, there are pluses and minuses.
Just so long as I don't have to act my age, I'll be fine.    :p
For the modern man who lives in the city, riding a bike might be one of the only ways to escape the humdrum monotony. To take off and ride. To be both at one with nature and one with the bike. To feel masculine. Adam Piggott

Well, I am waiting for my birthday this year, because there is one particular female who ALWAYS says to me..
"Act your Age!" .... I will make sure that I do something foolish in her presence on my birthday, to evoke this retort from her.
... Because I can then turn to her and say "HAH!.... YOU WISH!"

(Hint... NEXT  year I will be 70) :grin ;-*
