MCL Reservoir RAM Ball Cover and Spot Messenger Mount
« on: April 07, 2016, 04:47:04 PM »
After my trip to Perth I decided to tidy up the office a bit, by remounting my Spot Messenger and my handheld CB radio.

The CB mount is now via a MCL clutch reservoir mount, which replaces my original cover.  This is a neater option than the previous RAM ball mount that screws onto the top of the original reservoir cover.
My second improvement was to fabricate a mounting plate for the RAM Spot Messenger holder, from some sheet stainless steel.   It's a much more elegant solution than the complex RAM ball gadget that I was using before.

MCL make top gear.  I have the reservoir RAM ball cover in silver to match the other one.
The ST is well set up for these embellishments, and yours looks quite tidy.
For the modern man who lives in the city, riding a bike might be one of the only ways to escape the humdrum monotony. To take off and ride. To be both at one with nature and one with the bike. To feel masculine. Adam Piggott

Don't you just love sheet stainless steel for these little on jobs.....a 4"grinder with a cut off wheel, flap disk, a dremel and drill and finish the job with a knife stone and you can make magic from S/S  :like

You just need to allow for SS having limited fatigue life.
Back about 1969/70 I made some lovely SS brackets to mount the rear blinkers either my A100 Suzuki or my T250 Suzuki Hustler and it didn't take long for them to fatigue and fall off  :'(
