OK, after a sleepless night I have decided that I'll be keeping my ST and not moving to another bike, and will contact the seller this morning.  I'm not ready to give her up just yet, and instead will spend a few dollars fixing up a few small and annoying issues.  While a modern well appointed bike would be very nice, I still feel very much at home on my red ST.

Whew!  That was close!
Stay strong, Pete.     :grin

Just out of curiosity, what was it?

Very nice, but central locking for a bike? I guess it won't be long before they invent the riderless motorbike.

Decision made then.  I was wondering about the new seat until I read this thread.

Hmm.  Integrated GPS map updates are notoriously expensive.  I don't know what GPS they use, but I hated the integrated one on the Wing I owned.
But only a year old- pretty good.  Smooth bike.
You chose well- it's a big leap to go German.

It was a Garmin GPS.

It was a Garmin GPS.

That should have been straight-forward, then.
A pity Honda didn't go that route.

I'm currently seeking redress from Garmin for not honouring my 2013 purchase of "Lifetime Maps".
