Arrived safe and sound in Manali .... ride over but still things to see. Will keep spot active for a few more days .. what an absolutely amazing time .... highly recommend. Pics to come once i get home. OzSTOC well represented :-)

Still another 11 days or so until I get home. Get to Delhi then visit Taj Mahal for 2 days then Bali for a week to relax ... lol

You went past my Fathers birth place, "Hodal" near New Delhi.

Taj Mahal was built bt the Shah Jehan, as a tomb for his wife Mumtaz Mahal (she had died before he had it built) The story goes, that he was able to look at the Taj from his Red palace, but he couldnt bare to look at it directly so had a large ruby set in the wall so he could look at the reflection therein. It is situated in the City of Agra on the bank of the Ganges River.

I know this information, as I did a show and tell in about grade 6, a long long time ago. The information was in a set of encylopedia that Dad brought from India circa 1946

Did the same trip as Pezz some 3 years ago on an old Enfield 500 kick start. It was one of the most exciting and scary rides I have ever completed . I did the trip with Ferris world tours with Mike and Denise Ferris as tour leaders .
If you have never ridden in India , and you have a bucket list ,make sure you add this trip , you won't regret it. The secret to enjoying India is to leave your western values behind and just except their way of life , and drink only bottled water lol.

Hey Rob, would love to compare rides one day ... truly believe your last couple of comments and cannot recommend doing this enough. Thinking of doing another one soon. Weather for this was quite mild so would be interesting to ride when full on.... maybe with a parachute on .... one group we came across lost a rider the day before off a cliff and another guy drowned in a lake a few hours before we arrived at camp that night in Chander Tal.
