Seems like we have a time traveler in the whale watching community? The crystal ball principle?

Screen shot of email.. current time is only 12.40 now? .. and today is NOT the 1st of January?

200 metres offshore
Date sighted: 31st July 2016
Time sighted: 9:00am

Dear Kev Murphy,
1 Southern Right Whale approximately 100 metres from the Corkscrew. Visible from the whale watching platform using the binoculars.
Also visible from the far end of the breakwater.
Date sighted: 31st July 2016
Time sighted: 3.30pm
