Morning,
Would really like some feedback on the Bluetooth kits. Understanding that they are never going to be as much chop as the name brands but hoping will be suitable enough for my wife to express her lack of satisfaction in my riding skills without resorting to physical violence. If they can synch with a phone so it can then tell me where to go (rather than my wife) that would be a bonus.

thoughts?

cheers
Troy

I bought one last time around, but it's still in its box somewhere (just now gave up trying to find it).  They do pair with phones, but I don't know what the protocols are regarding call handling.
I have read somewhere that they do a quite acceptable job as intercoms, but again, I don't know how good the mounting hardware is.
For the modern man who lives in the city, riding a bike might be one of the only ways to escape the humdrum monotony. To take off and ride. To be both at one with nature and one with the bike. To feel masculine. Adam Piggott

I had two, one after the other and both times the mounting bracket broke and I finished up using a 3M heavy duty, double sided tape.

The microphone and left speaker are one unit and on one set the speaker case on the left side unclipped and never reaseated correctly. The double sided tape holding the speaker in on one side let go.

The volume isn't as loud as the name brands.

I never got to use it paired for intercoms, not for want of trying.  Couldn't get it to pair with Streak's or Shiney's ??? on one trip nor Diesel's or IanB's (two different name brands) on another ride.

I had an Airphone after that and it was chalk and cheese. The Airphone was brilliant, especially the voice command. WendyL now has that unit.

If you do decide to get one, Aldi don't always have them on display, they are often kept under the counter and you have to ask for them.

Hope that helps.

My Father (Bob) and partner (Annie-aka Blonde Ambition) All use one each. Paired together as intercoms and they work very well for the money. One press to talk to dad, two to talk to Annie. Considering they are half the price of the cheapest brand name they cant be beat.
As for connection to the phone, it does work, ive used it once, but talking on a phone and riding a motorbike are not my idea of a good time, so i leave it disconnected.
Yes the volume could be a little louder, but this depends a lot on the helmet. I hear it  easier in my Bell than i do in my Arai. But i also have loud pipes so it's hard to tell ;)
