Amazing Coincidence
« on: August 13, 2016, 10:48:26 AM »
In the 1970's I has a mate, Peter who I met at college, and I was the best man at his wedding.  His work took him overseas and we kept in touch with letters.  He and his wife returned to Australia in the 80s.  They moved to Victoria and we moved out of Toowoomba and we lost touch.  This was in the days before mobile phones and google.   My son lives in Brisbane and divorced some time ago and now has a lovely girlfriend.  Last night my son rang and said did I know a Peter .....
who is the long term partner of his girlfriend's aunt.  Peter had recognized my son's surname.
Turns out it is my old friend Peter, who separated from his wife years ago and now lives at the Gold Coast.  Last saw him 27 years ago. We are now in touch and are arranging a get together.
Beat that for coincidence.

Seems to happen more than you would expect chance would permit.
That's why someone coined "It's a small world!"

Anyway, someone else worked out we're all separated by only 6 degrees.  Seems far-fetched, but here's the science:

For the modern man who lives in the city, riding a bike might be one of the only ways to escape the humdrum monotony. To take off and ride. To be both at one with nature and one with the bike. To feel masculine. Adam Piggott

Only to be expected- smart people buy STs.   No fluke there!      :grin
