Streak, when are you planning to travel there?
Accommodation is tight and expensive during the ski season, and during other events such as the Snowy Ride.

.... Khancoban, Corryong ..... Tumut ..... Walwa .... All have good accommodation ....

Stayed all of these locales, and would not hesitate again.

  *  Khancoban - klcp.com.au - don't get a budget cabin, good pub over road in walking distance, breakfast in town, café owner is a biker (that's the café on the right as you are looking at the shops).

  *  Corryong - corryonghotelmotel.com.au - great pub meals.

                    -  mountain-view.com.au - short walk to pub, great bakery and breakfast cafés in the centre of town.

  *  Tumut -  http://royalhoteltumut.com.au/ - cheap, clean, good pub meal, good breakfast café down the road.

  *  Walwa - no website, cheap, clean, good evening meal, but no breakfast (well when we were there).

Can't help if you wanna stay in the mountains.
Cheers,  Williamson (AKA Michael)

I've stayed at the Lake Jindabyne Hotel/Motel in Jindabyne, and eaten at the Bowling Club just a short walk down the road.  Both were not overly expensive and quite satisfactory.  However this was way back in 2007 so things could have changed.
