OzSTOC Motorcycle Jacket - Round 2 -
« on: September 15, 2016, 08:51:44 AM »
Morning All,

We are now considering the next production run of the OzSTOC Club Motorcycle Jacket.

The Jacket will be as close to the same as possible as the previous design (except for the sizing debarcle  :H)

The overall opinion from all the feedback we have collated has the garment as a quality product at a very fair price.

The negative feedback that I can supply you is:

- A couple of members found the collar rubbed and modified.
- A couple found the waterproofing of the rain liner wasn't perfect
- One Jacket from the first round was found to have faulty stitching in the winter liner
- Jacket a little to hot for the tropics
- Jacket a little to cold for southern winters
- A little short in the arms for the Gorillas  :p

This is the feedback we have been provided from the 110+ Jackets we have in use in the club.

Are they a perfect Jacket for every members build, riding style and climate....No way  ;-*

But for a production run of jackets to attempt to accomodate the broader OzSTOC community we achieved a really good outcome.

What I now need is an Expression of Interest (EOI) from members who would be intersted in purchasing a Jacket from the next round so as that I may start the very detailed process of investigating a new supplier for this garment. The previous supplier no longer is in this line of business, so we will be starting from scratch. Which we are more than happy to do "IF" the nessessary interest exists.

I'd be interested if the basic sizing metrics (arm, chest, waist) were reflected reasonably accurately in the number of XLs; in my case, lots.

Thanks Wendy, I doubt this will be an option purely because of quantities  :think1

However never say never....if we get the numbers in the interest to move forward from here I will definately put the ladies foot in the door with prospective suppliers and give the group feedback  ;-*

I also found the collar rubbeed my neck at the front, and have modified it to prevent it from happening.  Other than that, it's a great winter jacket.

I have an interest for maybe two jackets.

My feed back which I did not provide earlier is that the small toothed zippers tend to grab the lining underneath and jam. maybe some sort of anti jamming zipper pull could be incorporated.

I love my jacket but it is a little too warm in the full summer months in North Qld.

This is the obvious question and I know this is early but what is the likely price range you are going for. Is it possible to get jackets without the OZSTOC symbol for friends and I trust members who have version 1 would avail themselves at RTEs for test fitting.
Cheers to all.  :grin

We did a few in the last roll out not embroidered, no probs there  :like

But I'm happy enough if they want to plug the club for us with an embroidered jacket  :Stirpot

As for the jacket? Not for me at this stage. I even find my highly meshed DriRider a tad too warm in summer here in Qld. I do like the look of them however. Easy to pick an OZstocer from a distance. Passed someone wearing  one on a white 1300 on the weekend. Had lunch out at Wivenhoe Dam with a couple of non-ST riding friends.

Yep. Even commercially you see lots about 'warm' motorcycle gear but I've not seen anyone specialise in 'cool' safety gear. I do suffer with life long eczema so am always wanting to stay as cool as I can.

Yes, I'm interested - just don't tell the wife - I have 3 leather jackets, a Dri-rider Nordic Airflow and a Belstaff (impressive eh? - $15 at Salvos). I'm sure there is group therapy for my obsession.
