Kev Murphy is a late scratching due to a car turning into his path at Birchip when he was doing 30 km/h. Ambulance is in attendance. Awaiting info on which hospital.

Looks like it might have been Kev's fault because if he had been riding at 50 km/h instead of 30 km/h he would have been through the intersection before the driver turned in front of him.

Hopefully his injuries are only superficial.

Just had a text from Kev.

A mate is coming to pick him up from Horsham Hospital and he should be home in 4 hours.

Wishing him a speedy recovery.

For any late arrivals dinner is at the RSL at 7pm.

Am home... had dinner at mates house.

Details of prang.
Had been following a 4WD for several blocks through main street at Birchip, 300 km from home.. He must have been well aware that I was behind him.
4wd moved to right lane with indicators, I was still in left lane when another ute started to reverse out from parking.
I moved to right side of left lane to avoid him, and glanced at left mirror to see by how little the ute had missed the back of the bike.
As I looked fwd again, the 4WD had turned directly across my path to park nose in to the kerb. Left parking from right lane.
No time to brake.

Impact tore the front wheel and brake from the 4WD. Hard to say how much damage to the bike, as I didn't have the opportunity to check it, but it is severe.
Bike was trailered away after ambo's took me 100 km to Horsham hospital for xrays of knee and put some patches on scrapes. Broke my pinky on right hand and thumb injury on left hand. Was advised that my right knee is now totally knackered, and needs replacing asap.

Stroppy and I had a nice ride home with morning tea at Hay, and a nice lunch and cold drink at the London Hotel Ardlethan
Our only disappointment was at afternoon tea at Wallendbeen , the food van had disappeared and we were left with a seagulls smoko ( a drink of water and a look around )
Looking forward to Port Fairy.
