STranger's sulking in the garage,
« on: October 06, 2016, 08:18:28 PM »
 :dred11
STranger is sulking, |-i today inSTead of riding me to my Hospital appointment he had to STay home. I opened the roller door in my OzSTOC jacket, helmet in hand , approached him parked, grabbed my gloves from the dash. and walked back to My Grey  ST1300  parked behind him. Put the key in the HISS ignition turned it on, thru my leg over the seat and pushed the STarter. The headlight lite up STranger from behind as it roared into life, up with the sideSTand,,, hmmm both feet  firmly on the ground,, :thumb then walked her back out of the garage, rode thru the gate and walked back said see'ya mate and closed the door... :spank

LaST Sunday evening Wendy rode to my place as plan B as she wouldn't have made her flight if she rode another hr across to Onesie's. I had spoke with Jordan earlier in the day and after hearing about the flood delays and them being behind schedule I suggeSTed  Wendy park up here and I'd happily drive her into Mascot.and securely park the ST1300 in my garage until he could recover it.. after a couple of hrs I received a call from Wendy whilst she stopped at Gundaigai nr the Dog on the Tucker Box. She told me to put PLAN B in gear and would see me in about 4 hrs arriving 6.40 pm, STill having to repack her bags. Hurriedly Wendy packed, changed and we left for the Airport at 7pm. Arriving on time for her to check in etc...   anyway back to today and my firST ever ride on a HONDA ST1300... :grin :grin
btw Onesie had already told me to take her for a ride,  ;-*  :thumb
I sat on My Grey ST1300 for a few minutes getting accuSTomed to the different dash and the controls, windscreen up, windscreen down  :thumbs oh the digital clock is wrong,, not going to fiddle with that one at all. the GPS was on in front of me,, but knowing where I was going lQQked for the switch and turned it off not to diSTract me ..then gingerly and very carefully STood her up, kickSTand up, clicked into gear, ooooohhhh >:() rode out to the footpath, turned right heading uphill towards Razorback, click 2nd, click 3rd, then sat on 40 thru the roadworks then gave a little twiST   click 4th  STraight into the 100 zone,,l clicked  5th lQQked down oh 105...  WOW that seemed very smooth and easy... back to 1 lane and caught up to the truck and cars ahead then happily sat on 95 then 80 until the overtaking lane nth bound over Razorback. right lane and a gentle twiST and I casually passed the 3 cars and truck and pulled back into the left lane. Over the top of the hill and down the other side, listening to the sweet sound of the aftermarket pipes.  She felt very STable on the 55kph bends and I like the seating position. Along the Camden bypass and onto Camden Valley Way. I followed a  :cop HWP all the way into Liverpool.  After my appointment and bloods I almoST walked past My Grey ST1300 subconsciously lQQking for STranger,, oops.. :fp
Just as I was leaving Liverpool I received a call from Onesie, I went home the same way I went and chatted with Jordan all the way til Camden side of Razorback.Effortlessly rode over the mountain and back in Picton. I didn't have to think at all it was all so easy.
That was my firST ever ride on a ST1300, and now I WANT ONE. the little things STranger hasn't got like adjuSTable screen, slightly more upright seating position,, I actually didn't notice I forgot my kidney belt, :whistle, the extra grunt, The ST 1300 even feels lighter than the ST1100. Now I underSTand all you guys riding 13's. They are a great bike, though while I cant see me ever getting rid of STranger, if I'm in a position to get an affordable ST1300 I WILL, juST to keep him company in the garage,,,

I may even get to ride My Grey ST1300 down to the ACT for Onesie before he gets back from Melbourne,,  :grin  :thumbs :grin

Awesome RR mate :clap :clap :clap and great comparisons between the BIG 11 and the Mighty 1300 :thumbsup
Hopefully you'll manage to get a few more rides on the Gray STranger before Onesie needs it back or the original STranger gets jealous :whistle  :runyay :grin

I also have to say that Onesie has really shown himself to be a true legend :thumbs (or a little insane :eek)
First he lends his ST to Wendy so she could ride along on the Diesel TT Tour then he lets Johnny cruse around on it (just to keep it in good working order mind you ;-*)
What a legend! :-++ :-++ :-++

Onesie is a TRUE LEGEND for all reasons already mentioned!!!!

Now you understand my point of view Johnny, I'm also in the market for any good cheap ST1300 that may become available.  I'm sure my Baby will understand that she needs to share my attention.......

I juST took My Grey ST1300 for a little ride to Tahmoor as I needed to go to a shop there.  I am amazed how comfortable it is to juST get on and ride, 8) it seems very STable and secure on the road, even with taking extra care because its not mine.Effortless riding.   :thumb
I took the long way back thru Thirlmere and up onto Barkers Creek Rd then down the hill back onto Argyle ST thru town and home again.
I have ridden it 4 times now and I now want one of my own to take on a long rides.  :-((( STranger didnt here me write that,., I hope...  :whistle

Hi everyone,
Well that was a nice read,Wendy, and johnnyYTED,
If you guys are serious about upgrading to a ST1300,
Give me a call or P.M. me  for details etc. of the two ST1300's that I  have and am  thinking seriously of selling on.
I will not be asking  for either silly or exorbitant prices.
My 73rd. birthday is only a couple of weeks away and I am not riding as much as I used too.
Too many aches and pains now to be truly  as comfortable as I would like to be, and I find that my Yamaha Royal Star trike does a great job for the occasional jaunt,  and or makes a great shopping trolley.
Cheers,

:'( yeSTerday was a sad day, well a little sad! I rode My Grey ST1300 for the laST time, I rode to Campbelltown then via Narrellan Rd > The Northern Rd then onto Richmond and the the final South Rd Schofields to return her back to her rightfull owner Onesie.

I thanked Jordan for giving me such a wonderful experience and opportunity.
Jordan then rode me home on the back of the Goldwing, we chatted for a few minutes about the gail force winds then he left for home again... About 10 mins went by and I realised I had left my glasses in the Gwings topbox.  :fp
So today STranger and I went for a ride this time via The Oaks, Warragamba, Mulgoa, Penrith, Cranebrook then onto Richmond Rd and down to Schofields to Onesie's. I received my glasses and cap, when I was about to put them in STrangers topbox I discovered STrangers punishment  :spank for leaving him idle.  :butt .   I had a 3 ltr water bottle along with a lot of other non waterproof items, all of which were saturated.  :eek STranger had vibrated the top of the bottle and emptied the entire contents into the topbox...   :well That'll teach him..  :nahnah    :nahnah  (snickered STranger)
