OzSTOC Member injured Bike accident
« on: March 27, 2012, 05:55:15 PM »
Hello All,
One of our very fine members  Nh478m PJ (http://ozstoc.com/index.php?action=profile;u=196) is in Hospital after coming off second best with a Car, his words:

Quote
Bike might be wiped out, left calf and knee crushed, right scapula cracked but thanks to atgatt and especially the evoline 2 the rest's ok but achy. HO hum at least it's a comfy bed and the nurses are pretty.

he is in good spirits but I am sure he would appreciated a message or two with Get better soon written in it  :thumb

Trust your left leg isn't too badly damaged!  I'm thinking "crushed" means bruised, not broken.  Still painful.
Upside- all those motorbike movies you can watch on DVD!
Hope the bike was insured, or your attacker is insured so you can get an even better ST.
Do ya reckon the flash badges were any help in the prang?   :popcorn

Bad news mate. At least you sound chirpy.  :thumbs

Bike's being taken down to Yorkshire tomorrow so there's a scramble now by one of the sons-in-law tonight to get the expensive bits off before it disappears. If this one is terminated there'll be another '13 soon.

Eight weeks minimum to drive again and we'll see after that for riding. At least just now the weather's good to be able to work by remote link from the garden once I'm finished in here.

I've been surprised by how fast the injury lawyer crowd get your contact details. Three have called so far!

Thanks for the good wishes - Dave none of these is a patch on the nicer post-mistress.

Being in here certainly puts things in their right order of priority. The way it's set up in this hospital there's people on the same floor with dementia, etc and hearing their anguish through the night reminds me that I'll be getting better, they won't.

Regards
PJ

Even the pillows are looking attractive now!

I too had a little fall last Sunday the 25th March on my way home from the Barry Sheen Races in Sydney. About 30km south of Singleton on the putty road I got pushed wide on a blind corner by a white car on my side of the road, lost the ST in the gravel and went down. Bike stopped across my lane and I in opposite lane on blind corner. Car didn't stop of course. Some minutes after I crawled across road to get out of road of anybody coming around corner, three bikes stopped to pick up bike and get bits off road. I  had winded myself pretty bad and hurt right shoulder. One of my new friends got on the bike, and after being upside down just a few minutes before fired on the first touch of the button (Honda reliable) and rode around the corner to a parking area. With some duct tape and zip tyes I was able to hold enough bits together to get home (235km). Parked bike in shed and got in ute to hospital ED. They let me come home today Thursday, but will be touch and go wether I can make Blackheath. Will need a few parts and panels to get my old girl looking good again, and the bones will  heal, so all good in the end.   :bl11

Sorry about your "off" STeveo.  There are some tools out there in cars, that's the truth.
Don't feel you have to have the bike looking perfect for Blackheath.  Just get her going reliably.  A few battle scars will add some character for the weekend.  I'm told chicks dig scars.    :whistle

:blk13 Good luck Steveo glad you got up from it too.

Nothing wrong with either of the STs in the protection and reliability stakes.

My ride home from the hospital is set for 4pm today hoo-bloody-rah! Then it's six to eight weeks on my arse!
