Cape York ??/
« on: April 19, 2017, 06:33:16 PM »
Has anyone been p to Cape York?

I am looking for information on the most direct / accessable route to Bamaga.

On this trip I am not looking for adventure but just the best way to get to Bamaga and back.

I would appreciate any advice or links to pages.

I have done some google but get los in all the 'adventure' pages of 4wders who go off on adventure tangents.

Cheers

Lakeland is about as far as you can go on asphalt.  After that it's about 600k of dirt.

There are very good and highly detailed map books for selected areas available from here.    http://www.outbacktravellers.com.au/cape-york.html
I've used a variety of their maps for our holidays and find them very useful.

Cheers mate but this will be a solo ride with a purpose ..... or even a porpoise....😜

I'm keen to know what the roads like and where the fuel stops are and such like so maybe we should chat via an alternative avenue.

👍👍👍👍

You're not taking Black Beauty up there!   :-(((
