What's happening today?
« on: July 28, 2017, 05:41:22 PM »
Ok I am having a go at a new thread....brought the idea over from the Australian cx forum...like the title says...just a way to add a message about what you have been up to today...can be related to motorbikes or even other stuff of interest to members.

(Moderators..please remove, alter or move if there is already something like this)

SO..TO KICK IT OFF....Today I met up with Michael (Aka Shillas) who is over from  SA for a family function.  Michael very kindly brought over (strapped to his bike) an original st1100 screen with a lamina lip for me on a trial basis. Great to catch up with another  member of OzToc!

When I arrived home I did a quick change of the screens and a short ride...so far the lamina lips seems to work well...longer ride tomorrow but the noise and buffeting seems most resolved. Michael's screen also confirmed that my screen is all original and has not been altered...I thought it had been cut down slightly.

All in all a great day...even skipped half a day off work to do all of the above!
Chris

Oh dear- you're a bad example to us impressionable ones- taking time off work to play with motorcycles!!   :-(((

My recently acquired Bikequip screen with the lip is proving to be very quiet.
I really appreciate the comfort our screens afford.  Folk who ride without screens or minimal ones are welcome to the wind and noise.

Your idea of an opportunity to drop in and comment is good.  I do tend to prefer bike-related contributions rather than social chit-chat.  There's another related thread that has been going for five years called "I Just Wanted To Say... Ya Can't Hijack This!!"
http://ozstoc.com/index.php?topic=2021.msg19053#msg19053

The idea was so many topics veered off subject as they were progressively hijacked.  Since this had no topic, it was immune to the condition.   :grin
For the modern man who lives in the city, riding a bike might be one of the only ways to escape the humdrum monotony. To take off and ride. To be both at one with nature and one with the bike. To feel masculine. Adam Piggott

Was good to catch up with Chris, lots of talk on bikes etc with my brother-in-law, a fellow rider and my driver for the day. Chris was saying that he may have a lead on locally made screens, who's been supplying CX's.

I also took the day off to ride over here from SA, so apologies for being another poor influence. :spank

Glad that the screen is showing some effectiveness.  ++

We have I Just Wanted To Say... Ya Can't Hijack This!! :-)) http://ozstoc.com/index.php?topic=2021.msg19053#msg19053 which is basically the same idea.

The same idea  happens else where as I've used it over here from time to time http://www.my-mc-phoenix.com/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=13661&start=1620
