ST Attacked
« on: September 04, 2017, 08:57:50 PM »
So last night my bike was pushed over while parked in Brisbane :eek
One of the youths (16 y/o) that are regularly committing minor crime in the area pushed my bike over with force leaving it on the side with both wheels in the air :'(
The youth was later picked up by Police :cop :law

As the :cuss is under 17 y/o the courts aren't likely to hold him responsible to pay for damages (I have seen this happen many times to other people) :||||

Anyway thanks to the cover I had over the bike there was only minor damage (but damage that I'm still pissed about :well)

Here are some pics I took of the damage (All on the right side) just after picking the bike back up...

MCL Highway Blade and Cover

Mirror and Mirror Cover (Mirror folded back against the spotlight mount)

Misaligned Side Cowl

When I got home I was able to get a better look in daylight...

Odometer

Pannier

Pillion Footrest

Rider Footrest

MCL Highway Blade and Cover

Mirror Cover

Mirror

Bike Cover

Engine Guard Bent (This was causing the misalignment of the Side Cowl)
(One bolt hole (Front) is aligned the other (Rear) is out a lot)

Anyway I have gone over the bike and everything is working without issue (and replacement parts will work out to less then my insurance excess) :runyay

$175 Mirror cover (From Blue City Honda)
$121 Engine Guard (From Blue City Honda)
$8.50 Delivery (From Blue City Honda)
$100(ish) Rjays Motorcycle Cover
$144 MCL Highway Blade and Cover (Price in AUD including shipping)

Total
$540

The damage to the pannier will buff out and the scrapes on the footrests are underneath so I'm not to worried about that.

Anyway the mirror cover has been taped together and one of the bolts connecting the Side Cowl to the Engine Guard have been left out to allow the bike to be ridden until I order, receive and install the replacement parts :thumbs

The only thing left to say is that this has been an expensive way to review the RJAYS Motorcycle Cover... It's awesome :grin :thumbsup

Cheers
Shiney

what ever happened to good clean fun.  I hope the karma bus lines up the little B and he gets his justice
down the track.   Malicious damage is not fun and it is hard to see what enjoyment they can get.   Glad to see the damage was not worse.

:fp  Bugger!    Criminals who can avoid their responsibilities because of their age is a very annoying trend.  :OldMan   We are all responsible for our own actions, and courts are too soft on juvenile recidivist offenders who have not learned  a thing from previous grace and leniency.

That's a fair bit of damage!  Our bikes are very vulnerable.  Low life like him usually get their thrills "keying" cars.  The scratches cost a lot to rectify, but don't look as bad as broken mirror covers and bent body panels.
As Pete says, the trend in juvenile misbehaviour is a worry.  Too many kids of dropkick parents who will go on to breed worse copies of themselves.
For the modern man who lives in the city, riding a bike might be one of the only ways to escape the humdrum monotony. To take off and ride. To be both at one with nature and one with the bike. To feel masculine. Adam Piggott

Go to court on the day and find out where he lives, purchase a baseball bat, NOOOO I better not say that,  but getting even would be sweet... I know his punishment from the Court (if he ever gets there) probably is another counselling from a goody goody.  I bet he has a LOOOOOONG record of similar offences.

Thanks guys,
Everyone at work will be keeping a close eye on this little :cuss and will have the Police harassing him whenever he steps out of line.

After seeing my bike lying on the ground it did take me a few hours to stop shaking with rage :well but I'm trying to look at the bright side....

Bright side:
The cover is awesome (I'll be getting a new one) and I have a great reason for buying a new farkle (the rear tip over bars WAG spoke of :grin)

I'm sure the little bugger will get his sometime, I just hope to see it happen :thumb
I may even one day hear of the courts making him pay for his crimes (But I wont hold my breath :H)

Cheers

Impossible to believe the mental capacity of some folk. My brother in law had the same thing happen to his Ducati Multistrada but this was in his apartment carpark in Brisbane city. Tipped it over and then proceeded to kick the crap out of it. So sorry for you Shiney.
