Question has probably been raised previously. 

What is the insurance situation with non-standard tyre / tyres on the motorcycle?  When submitting a claim for the ST1300 in 2023, I recall the question of modifications, in particularly tyres, was raised.

I contacted Swann Insurance a few years back and they had this to say:

"We do not accept any motorcycle where a car tyre has been fitted. Unfortunately, it is outside our Underwriting criteria and your cover would not be honored"

Yeah, that'd be my concern.  Some insurance companies will look for any excuse to deny a claim, no point handing it to 'em on a silver platter.

I'm sorry you took it that way but I didn't know what you meant by "chute".
As many on here believe I think EV's are sh*t I thought you would realise I was saying that with tongue firmly in cheek, I guess I was wrong...

Attached photo is of two tyre beads. One is an Avon Cobra and the other a CT. Without just tossing a coin pick which is which and then check out statements made on two of the youtube videos post in this thread.

OK I have reneged, which is just as well because in true engineer fashion I can't spell, chute should have been cute (as in Fiat 500E).
Would like to blame it on autocorrect but it was me. Shall go back and edit my original post.

I guess that shows that some car tyre beads may vary in width.
It was pretty obvious that the car tyre that came off that Valkyrie had a wider bead than the motorcycle bead.

Goes to show there's much research needed to find a car tyre that is going to reasonably fit your motorcycle rim.
