« on: November 27, 2017, 10:16:49 PM »
The Oxley Hwy between Wauchope and Walcha is set to have speed limits reduced from 100kph to 80kph.....more news to follow on this soon.

Here is an interesting presentation on the Oxley by Mick Matherson.......Checkout the OzSTOC plug towards the end  ;-*

Great video.  :thumbsup   The Oxley is one of a series of roads in the Great Divide that I have not yet ridden, and this footage makes me want to get there soon.   It was good of Mick to give the subtle plug for OzSTOC, which would have been missed by most who are not ST people but stands out for us.

I stayed in Walcha Melbourne Cup day last year
I signed a petition against the reduction in speed limit on the Oxley Highway. One of favorite roads  :Whipped

I have heard a rumor that the hwy patrol cannot patrol through the twisty bits due to work safety concerns about no where to pull anybody over or to turn around to chase a 'speedster'.

Ah, but they could go out with a mate located at a "pull-out" and radio ahead for the pinch.
For the modern man who lives in the city, riding a bike might be one of the only ways to escape the humdrum monotony. To take off and ride. To be both at one with nature and one with the bike. To feel masculine. Adam Piggott

Or they use bikes instead of cars.
