Has anyone nominated a gathering point to ride up together?
Otherwise, it's going to be a long boring highway ride by myself.
Unless I add an hour to the ride by going via Samford, Dayboro, Mt Mee, Woodford, Connondale, Kelilworth, & up to the cafe.

I'd be interested in a group ride. Sounds way more fun even though we don't make as much noise as a flock of Harley's (Shiney excepted). We are at Eatons Hill.

Dunno whether it would be much fun scooting straight up the highway. Mt Mee is more fun though it does add an extra hour each way. The north end of the Mt Mee road (North of Pitstop) is really nice but the Dayboro end is quite rough and, I find, rather frustrating to ride. A mid-way option would be to turn inland at Caboolture or Beerwah. Anyone got any experience of the best route?

From eaons hill we could go up old northern rd, youngs crossing to Petrie, then beerburrum rd to caboolture. Then back way to malany and to the cafe?

Pretty sure Beerburrum Rd starts at Caboolture and runs north from there to Steve Irwin Way then up to Malany etc. That's one of the routes I had in mind.

The inland route from Petrie up to Caboolture via the Old Gympie Rd is a bit ordinary these days as it has become quite suburban.

How about under the bridge at the Strathpine exit ? 9am since Mr Google reckons its about 2 hours from there if we go via Caboolture, Beerwah and Maleny. About 10 minutes less if we continue up the highway a bit further and turn in at Steve Irwin Way.

Hey Shiney (and any other Brisbanites), which way are you planning to go and do you want to join in ? You may know a nicer route than the one I have in mind.

Food was good. A nice breeze on the verandah.

It was a great day except for the crazy heat! Ruth and I enjoyed meeting up with everyone and finding everyone to be remarkably normal

We would have been far better off riding back with the group down the highway. Instead we went back towards kenilworth, we chugged up to mapleton behind a slow smoke-blowing 4WD, crawled through tourist-infested Montville and finally pulled in for a serious cool down at Landsborough.

STrudel said that he had a great time too chatting with Shiney’s and jf3000’s steeds.

Looking forward to next time
