Bike Hire in FIJI
« on: December 26, 2017, 12:42:07 PM »
I'm in a pickle ... I had a bike trip to Vietnam with my 2 boys (17 & 18) but the Typhoon hat is hanging around the region has cancelled this plan.
As they are on L's and one is under 18 we are restricted to who and where.
We have narrowed it down to FIJI but I can't find any information on the web.

I know it's wet there but no where near as wet as Vietnam.
We are planning to leave on the 29th or 30th.

Has anyone been to FIJI and hired bikes. If yes, do you have their details.
I know the Fijians are crazy drivers (bit like PNG where I work) so any views on riding in FIJI would also be appreciated
Thanks
Steve

Thanks Brock,
Yep, I've been to those sites. I think I am screwed as my youngest is not yet 18.
It's off to FIJI but jet skiing and snorkling and golf. Maybe a scooter here or there.

I don't recall the drivers being all that crazy when I went there, but they did like telling me my headlight was on.

Bula vinaka.

Fiji is a lovely place and the people are very friendly.

In 2003 on a work trip, I drove around most of Viti Levu from Nadi (Nandee) up to Ba town and back around the south to Suva, Nausori and up to Korovou. Most of the roads then were dirt outside Nadi and Suva.

The eastern side is mostly cane farming country, the south mostly tourist destinations and resorts and there is some also north of Suva.

We went in 2016 on holiday and the roads were vastly improved. As where the buses. 2003, canvas for windows on the buses, 2016 air-con and tinted windows.

This V8 trike operates out of Nadi. This photo was taken at Port Denaru in 2016.

Snorkeling on the Reefs is awesome.

If you visit a traditional village take a gift for the chief.

Good Kava gives you a numb tongue and makes you drowsy.
