Need to hire a Goldwing for a couple of hours
« on: February 12, 2018, 03:20:38 PM »
I'm assisting with a university study into motorcycle limos (similar to Virgin Bikes in London) and people perceptions of the service similar to - See: http://virginlimobike.com/. The study is very specific in that we require a double seated bike (unfortunately not an ST1100 or ST1300 or I'd use my own). The study organiser wants a Honda Goldwing or similar for a couple of hours on Uni Campus riding (with pillion and camera fitted).

Does anyone know of somewhere in Sydney that hires Goldwings at all? I know plenty of hire shops but they only have Harley's suitable for the job and I don't do Harleys!!!!!! Advice would be appreciated.

You might try the Goldwing forum.  They're generally ultra-keen to show off their bikes, but the owner would be doing the riding, not you.
For the modern man who lives in the city, riding a bike might be one of the only ways to escape the humdrum monotony. To take off and ride. To be both at one with nature and one with the bike. To feel masculine. Adam Piggott

Go to a dealer, and take a 4 hour test ride and then take it back.

Awesome Alan. Never knew they existed, and they are only 30mins up the road from me. That could be a fun outing at the risk of making STrudel feel unloved.

You can call me Steve, with apologies to Paul Simon.

Their rates are very reasonable.  If you only wanted to ride one on the occasional weekend it would be far more economical to rent theirs than own one!

Did that many years ago when I was a young single lad. Had a fridge that need relocating. Went to a second hand car dealership and took out a ute for a test drive. Moved the fridge and then returned later to tell the dealer that the car didn't suit. Explained the long test drive by saying I took it to my brothers to have a look at. Naughty, I know, but got the job done.

Cheers,
Hobs

I suggested something like that but Natman says he wants to do the riding.

I don't want to do the riding, I have to do the riding for the study. No problems, I'll let them know its off. Thanks for the recommendations/advice.
