Bike-Quip Live - At Last
« on: February 23, 2018, 07:58:15 AM »
G'day Guys n Gals,  :hatwave

Well, after a mammoth session sorting out postal rates (particularly overseas!) I am relieved, please and very proud to tell you that finally

:runyay   :thumbs :runyay   :thumbs :thumbs BIKE QUIP is live! :thumbs   :thumbs   :runyay    :thumbs   :runyay

It's the same web address as it always was,   www.st1300-accessories.co.uk  and there is a suggestion box and email sign up on there.

I have everything in stock apart from the rear panels which I am hoping to resurrect this year if I can find a quality shop to manufacture them.

I have had boxes custom made for my screens which will take just about all the other products I sell, so that should help with keeping the shipping costs down a wee bit.

So, click away - enjoy the site and again, if you guys want to do a bulk order and sort internal shipping out once it arrives in Oz then we can try n work something out with the postage.

Ride Safe!

Steve B

Hmmmmm......    Using Steve's URL I still am getting the old BikeQuip site, with the inoperative links to the various products.    I'm looking forward to having a browse through the site once it's sorted.

How do I know if it's the 'old' or 'new' site?

The new site has a Pan like logo with the stars top left. and the words 'bike quip' through it - its modern looking and has no side bar.
The old site has a side bar with the products listed and a red pan motorcycle logo at the top left

and ... the new one looks new, the old one ..... you decide!  :nahnah

Thanks, I get the new site.  Looks good, but I didn't see the RAM dash mount.

Can I take it that if you get enough interest in the dash mount, that would look at options for sourcing it for us in OZ?

Sure, if you use the suggestion box for that sort of stuff - not now cos I have read this one but i don't monitor Ozstoc every day and its easier if you use the site as i get a permanent record of stuff posted.  I will get onto it in the next week - my first 6 hours have been manic so let the dust settle and i will get in touch with RAM n sort out a cost - then we can see who is interested.

Come on guys and gals, who's interested?   If you don't know what we're talking about, perhaps Marcus will post a pic of his.

Pete, I just clicked on the link in my first post and it loaded my new site. Try clearing your cache n try again - long shot but it might be you've got an old page stored?   :CB--

I cleared my Cache  all Temp Internet files, did a cold restart of my PC, tried F5 reload, and am still getting the old version of the site.   The old version is clearly hiding somewhere on my PC or in my cyberspace.  I'll get my son-in-law who works in the trade to see if he can find it next time he's over.     :popcorn

Thanks Brock.   I've tried that and it didn't work.   There is a peculiar problem in Chrome here it can somehow hold on to an old version of a web site and won't refresh it with the never version, despite clearing cache and Temp Internet Files. I've searched the interweb have not yet turned up a fix.   What I want to try is a URL that will get me past the Bike Quip Home Page that you've quoted.

Sorry to Hijack this thread with my particular problem.

A bit of lateral thinking, try this link. It goes to the next level instead of the home page.

Thanks Brock and Johnny.  It didn't work, so I'll quit trying for a while and keep looking for a solution, which I think is a Chrome issue.   Thanks for the advice and input.

Hey Pete, try clearing your DNS which is surprisingly simple to do...  :CB--

Go to: Start > Command Prompt (Make sure you run as administrator) > type: ipconfig /flushdns

You have successfully flushed your DNS & now can / should see your new webpage.   :thumbs

I hope this helped, let me know mate!

For those still having issues with Chrome  :||||  I found this on another related thread ...

Just do this and you will be fine.
**Before starting this only have one chrome page loaded up**
1. Click at right top of screen go to pull down menu. (hold mouse over and mine says "customize and control google chrome")
2. Click Settings
3. On Start up, Click radial button "open a specific page or set a pages"
4. Click on the blue words "set pages"
5. This will now bring up a window that lists all your pages that chrome is loading at start up.
6. When you place mouse over a page it will illuminate the close out "x" on the right side, and close any page that keeps loading up on you that you don't want
7. Now add new page such as "www.google.co.uk" press ok.
8. Before closing this page on the setting section clear browsing history.
9. See top left says "history" "extensions" and "settings", Click history.
10.Click browsing data button.
11.In the top box marked "obliterate the following items from" in the pull down menu, choose "the beginning of time"
12. Now click at bottom "clear browsing data" then setting page will become visible.
13. Close setting page and close the only chrome page you have to see desktop.
14 Re-open chrome and the only page that should come up is the one you set in item #7 from above.

I don't have chrome myself (sounds like a Harley problem!    :nahnah) but the solution above is supposed to be the mutts nutts!

Let us know if it works!

Ride Safe!
