Waterproof Biologic iPhone bike mount case
« on: April 13, 2012, 09:52:34 PM »
I've recently fitted a Biologic iPhone Mount and Case to my bike and I really have to say that they're a top product. The case will fit either a 3G a 3GS or even a 4G and it's just a matter of changing the internal gel inside the case (it all comes in a set) depending on which model you have. The cases are completely watertight and can be swiveled to use either vertically or horizontally. The phone is totally operable through the window, in fact you wouldn't even realize that the phone was set behind another screen. The units are very well made and have a very secure catch, there's no way the phones' ever going to fall out of the case. The case is also made so you are able to charge the phone from the bike battery while riding, so no flat phone battery if you're running a GPS application. Which brings me to something else again..........Metroview, iPhone application, cheap as chips and working so well I don't see myself ever having to lay out for an expensive GPS. All bluetoothed to my Camos headset....working perfectly.............I'm really impressed with the set up.
Just getting back to the Biologic Case...............check out their website and view their video, everything said on the video is true.....they're a great product!!

I'm attaching a couple of pics!

This looks like a really good iphone mount, with a minimal amount of hassle to modify it to fit the bike. I just ordered a case, so lets hope it all works out as expected.

I have done a few long trips with mine no problems yet  >:()  just remember it won't work through the gloves unless you modify them with conductive thread or similar

My iPhone answers hands free through my Camos bluetooth so I have no need to play around with it with gloves on while underway. I wouldn't feel safe doing it anyway!

What a good idea!...............but I don't think I'll need to do this as I'm quite happy where it is just using the standard clip on mount. But it certainly is a great idea!

Hey Couch how tight is the fit?  I have the 4 with a very slimline case on that I don't really want to take on and off all the time.  Do you think there would be room to insert the phone in s slim case, or is it too snug?

Have been looking at this case for a while.

No Tack........unfortunately it wouldn't fit. The phones fit perfectly snug into the case, there is a silicone insert that the phones rest in to prevent them from shock, and the insert is interchangeable depending upon which iPhone you have, so if you start of having a 3G or 3GS, then upgrade at a later date to a 4G, then you only have to change the insert, and both inserts come supplied in the kit. I also have my iPhone in a leather flip top cover to prevent it from damage and just take it out and drop in into the case when I use it on the bike.............I guess if I was doing it every day it might become a pain in the proverbial. But then again, you'd probably get used to doing it pretty quick. For the price they really are an excellent product mate!

I'm talking several times a day some days, so it may get a little old very quickly. Might wait until I see one in person to make decision.

Thanks for the response buddy.

I have recently fitted one of these beasties to my ST and it is excellent, it is clearly visible whilst riding, getting the phone in and out is only a matter of seconds with no fiddling or hassles, and I modified the backplate exactly as the US Owners club describes and it was only a matter of a couple of minutes to complete. No hassles. Thoroughly recommended.

By all means.

Taken into the Flash

This is what it looks like open, but I really wouldn't advise this for more than a few seconds as the phone wants to slide out!!
Note the cut-out at the bottom for the charging cable (not connected)

Hope this helps!!!

The only little problem that I've found is when playing music through my iPhone is that the vibration causes the songs to jump from one song to the next before each is completed. I never have a problem when I carry the phone in my tank bag or pocket. This really isn't a problem though as I can carry my ipod in the tank bag or pocket for listening to music, and the iPhone in the case for phone calls and gps. Both can be connected simultanously to my Camos (bluetooth).  :)

Couch, I may know how to fix the issue with the songs skipping on the iPhone...

Grab your iPhone and open the Settings,
Scroll to Music and switch "Shake to Shuffle" to "OFF"

That should stop the songs from changing on you :wink1
