Here's a unique gift that you can give someone.

Highland Titles will sell you a (very) small plot of land on a Nature Reserve in Scotland, and you get full and legal title to the land.   This is how they make money to fund the conservation work undertaken on the reserve.  As a landholder in Scotland the owner of the land is properly entitled to call themselves "Lord" or "Lady".  There is also a specific tartan that owners of such land are entitled to use, as well a range of unique land owners accessories.

We have taken up this offer, and own two plots each, one in each of the two Nature Reserves, as has at least one other OzSTOC member that I know of.    It's a bit of fun, particularly if you have a Scottish heritage, with the money going to a genuine conservation effort in Scotland.

My wife and I have been Lady Shirley and Laird Dale for nearly 10 years now. It is nice to be a landowner in Scotland, plus preserve the land for posterity

I actually found out about Highland Titles when you spoke of it as a contestant on a game show, and that prompted me to buy a plot as a gift for Lady Christine in back 2015.  I also bought her one of their beautiful woolen scarves in our tartan, and a plot for myself.
