Ran a facebook poll to ask where to ride to this weekend . Choices were East Coast or West Coast of Tassie.
Im sure there was more than a touch of sarcasm in the result when the West Coast won . Being late Autumn with minus temps , mountainous roads , wild life, fog, ice and snow to possibly contend with .
All thought i wouldn't go . Little did they know i invested heavily in riding gear months earlier specifically with winter riding on the wild West in mind ... Challenge accepted .
It seems my friends who have bikes here ,bikes only work in idealistic conditions and only manage to ride to the Mole Creek pub for a beer in summer ,,, pussies for lack of a better word .
7 hrs and 462 kms later got back home . Rode in challenging conditions early . By the time i got to Queenstown , the fog had lifted and it was picture perfect for the rest of the ride .
Was a fantastic ride from start to finish .
