Dual Motorcycle Camera (DV188)
« on: October 30, 2018, 06:17:46 PM »
Hi everyone :hatwave

I recently brought a dual motorcycle camera system (1 front camera & 1 Rear camera) called the "Blueskysea DV188"
It was purchased from ebay for $128.79 AUD from a supplier down south.

I have installed it on my ST1300 and have been running it for a couple of weeks now, so far I have found it to be a good unit :thumbsup

Anyway I have made a video covering the install and a review of what the footage is like :grin

Check it out below :thumbs

Me too.  Is both front and rear in 1080p?  Have you got a rough idea of home much a 64GB sd card would hold before it fills up.  I'd be keen on getting something like this on the kwaka for general commuting (ie. setting it on loop and only looking at if if something happened).  Do you leave the unit under your seat?

Both cameras are 1080p.
A 64GB SD Card will hold about 8 hours of riding footage from both cameras (Just under 62MB per minute) and when it is full it will loop back to the beginning and overwrite the oldest footage.

I have left the DVR under the seat as it isn't waterproof.

I just bought one.  Eight hours on a 64GB is pretty good.  The gopro only does half that and it's one camera.

Mmmmm, so tempting, esp the 1080 front and rear.

Wow! That is pretty impressive. I haven't had anything to do with bike cameras but this has certainly grabbed my interest. Thanks for the report.

That looks terrific mate.  I see also that there is a waterproof version the DV688.

These are a darn sight less expensive than the Hummer I bought for Strudel, and better featured.  Dual cams, wider view, larger maximum storage capacity, bigger screen and easier controls.  What's not to like?

The Hummer does have inbuilt GPS, and wifi for file transfer. The Wifi transfer is very slow though, and it looks like this BlueSkySea unit has an optional GPS module for those who want it.  Looks like a no-brainer to me :-)

The only thing the Hummer has going for it is that, mounted behind the windscreen, it contributes to the police bike illusion   ;-*

6>25 nov, but even if it does arrive before Harrow I doubt I'll have it set up for that trip.

Does it have a time lapse photo mode on it or is it just video?

Just video or single photos when you press the button.

Here are some pages from the booklet that comes with it :thumbs

Nice one Shiney.

If I was getting one,  I'd get this one as the GPS tracks where and when and possibly speed.

Two parcels in my GPO box this morning.  I know what one is and I am guessing the other is this.   With a Harrowing RTE this weekend and stuff to do tonight I shan't be sussing it out until next week but hope to have it running in the near future.
