RTE Sunday 21 July 2019 - Pitstop Cafe - Mount Mee

Event Information:

The Pitstop Cafe on Mt Mee is owned by former motorcycle speedway racer John Alexander and wife Kim, and is managed by motorcycle enthusiast Michelle Sadlier.
The cafe is situated on one of the Brisbane hinterland’s most famous motorcycle roads, the Mount Mee Road which snakes up and over the range.

It is poised on the edge of a cliff looking south across Mt Pleasant Valley to Brisbane and on a clear day you can see all the way to the sand dunes of Moreton and North Stradbroke islands.
Inside there are motorcycle races on the TV and motorcycle and car racing paraphernalia everywhere collected over the years by John.

Joleen and I won't be able to make this one as I am on a 2 day adventure riding course in preparation for our big trip to South America.

Ruth and I don’t usually make it to the Sunday RTEs, but this time we are in.

It’s always a great run up to pit stop, and it’s a beaut location.

CamHP has to work both sat and Sunday, gotta keep the boss happy so he wont need a chaperone for this RTE.

Carrol and I had a great day

I headed out a couple of hours early to met up with Johno033SQ, we connected up our comms units then headed back to my place to collect Carrol

Unfortunately the speakers in Johno's headset weren't loud enough at highway speed

(although I must say that the his mic was amazing, I could hear him clearly with no wind noise at all

)

After collecting Carrol we headed off, past Old Petrie Town through to Dayboro and up Mt Mee to the Pitstop Cafe where we met up with everyone

We had a great meal and chin wag then headed back out to the bikes for more chating

After all was said and done we said our goodbyes and headed off.
Carrol, myself and Johno followed Gadget back down the mountain on a relaxing ride behind some traffic

and I must say Johno is doing great and I reckon he'll have no worries getting his full motorcycle licence when the time comes

We continued through to my place, dropped Carrol off and then headed back down to Johno's place, all in all it was a great day

Thankyou to everyone that was able to make it today, it was great to see you all and I look forward to the next one

As above, a nice catchup after a loooong break. My ST was humming through the 15-18 degrees hills to and from Palmwoods.
