Bike crash
« on: March 12, 2019, 04:11:18 PM »
A very sad bike acco in Brisbane yesterday.
The bike appears to have been hit mighty hard to lose a rear wheel.

You gotta wonder!

For the modern man who lives in the city, riding a bike might be one of the only ways to escape the humdrum monotony. To take off and ride. To be both at one with nature and one with the bike. To feel masculine. Adam Piggott

Sorry- I know how annoying that is!  One of the things that impacted me is she had brought up four kids and was about to graduate from her studies.  Here's the text:

A mother of four who died in a horrific motorcycle crash last week had “more love to give than life would allow”, her family says.

Penelope Petersen, 46, was travelling north on Hale St at Paddington, in Brisbane’s inner west, last Thursday afternoon when she collided with a vehicle as she was passing the Caxton St on-ramp.

She was flung from her motorcycle and died at the scene.

Fatal crash brings city to halt

In a statement to The Courier-Mail, Ms Petersen’s family said she was a teenager at heart who would be remembered by many.

“She is survived by four children, but was a mother to many more. She was deeply adored by her family and all of those who knew her,” the statement read.

“She was full of life, and had more love to give than life would allow.”

Ms Petersen had a great love for motorcycles. Her family says her motorbike “was more than just her bike; it was her independence, her individuality and her self-expression”.

Ms Petersen was also in her final year as a masters student at University of Queensland, studying audiology.

“She was over the moon to graduate at the end of the year and start working with the community,” the statement read.

“Her zest for life and bubbly personality will never be forgotten.

“Hope was her word; there is always hope. We want her to be remembered always for her love and hope.”
