At Port Hedland after another hot days ride. on what must be some of the most isolated highways in Australia. Between Broome and here thereare just two dusty roadhouses. I am not a happy camper and am alarmed at how quickly my PR4s are wearing out. They have less tha10,000km on them and the rear will not make Perth.

The only bike dealer within range is in Karratha, which of course is not open until Monday. It may be that I do a short run to Karratha tomorrow and see what I can sort out first thing on Monday.

I am wondering if the heat has affected them? My last set of PR4's lasted 22K km before I changed them.

I use 38psi front and 42psi rear, which is the recommended pressures for the Beemer. The last two sets on the Beemer gave me 14,000 which is still not brilliant..

Use Malcolm’s trick - wrap a few layers of duct tape around the tyre to get you out of trouble.

I am afraid not Kev. Best case scenario is that I get new rubber tomorrow arvo. Oh Well! That gives me a good chance to explore Karratha and Dampier.
