Maintainance parts and suppliers

Winston 66,
    Wonders,  My question for today.
I have been trawling the net for suppliers of the necessary parts and items that are necessary for the ST1300 perodical maintainence,
 Such as replacment ,
 Oil Filters,
 Air filter element,
 Spark plugs,
 ETC.
Have got tired and bored with the process,
Can anyone suggest a reliable source that can help and is not totally interested in doing the old practice of how much that they can rip us off both with prices and the exorbident postage charges that they like to impose on us, the consumers.
  Are there any recommendations.
 Thanks again.
 Cheers , Winston 66 , Northampton . West aus.

Troll through our own OzSTOC site Winston, under the "OILS" thread to find some cheap alternatives that ST pilots are using (can get them from Repco/Supercheap).
Oil Filter - try Ryco Z436
Spark plugs can also be ordered through them - try NGK CR8-EH7
Air filter - K&N re-usable for around $100 - but you don't have to replace it ever again.

Delivery to where you live ol mate is bound to hurt anyways - but if you're at a Supercheap Auto next time try the above.

You will have to ph through first and order the plugs as they won't stock them - but with notice, they'll be waiting for you.

Hope this helps.

Cheers, Diesel

Diesel,

I thought the air filters were all throw away. Are you saying that some filters have gone back to the really old oil based re-usable type?

Diesel means using a K & N air filter. You clean them, reoil them and reinstall.
There should be a topic in suppliers for a place in Cannington I found that sells them for the same or similar price to getting one from the States.

I got my plugs from Midland Honda, they are around $6.00 each. They do have a ebay site to look at. Check others on ebay.

In regards to oil, it's your choice. Roper didn't think that diesel oil made any difference to his 1300.

I use a fully synthetic oil by the brand of Total.
It's a mine field and it comes down to personal choice.

 says , thanks Diesel,
Have just ordered 4 X   CR8EH9 plugs from Repco Geraldton $5.60 each, but a two week wait for delivery into their store from south aust. Also a  Ryco oil filter  Z436 is in stock for $14.00.
I dont suppose that I can do any better than that.
Incidently the new Kumho 205/50/17 tyre fitted up well. $119.00 delivered. and seems to be performing well, its a little different at slow speeds being so flat accross the thread     but seems to handle great at speed and when cornering ,so far I have tried it at 42 lbs ,and then at 30 lbs, and next is going to be at 35 lbs,   this afternoon,
The trailer is finished and passed the maiden road test with flying colours.
 Will post some pictures soon
Cheers to all.

There's a bloke called Tim, well worth the contact.  He has an internet based business called Superbike Supply (superbikesupply.com.au).  His business has dropped massively since the overseas onslaught, but keeps it ticking over by cutting profit to the bone on everything he does (he works full time so profit isn't a huge issue).  He's competitive with US prices- a little more expensive but cheaper than anyone I've found in Oz on anything from servicing gear (particularly air filters) to pipes, levers, chains etc.  I know many many guys who go through him.  I think he does flat rate postage as well.

Keep him in mind next time, at least it's another contact.
