Greetings from the police workshop
« on: February 12, 2020, 08:05:20 AM »
 :whit11-r

Just a quick to introduce myself, and say thanks for letting me join this group.

My name is Alex, and I have something of an affliction when it comes to police motorcycles.

I am currently restoring the following New South Wales Police motorcycles:

1979 Kawasaki Z1000 MK2
1987 BMW K100RT (ex VIP)
1999 BMW K1100LT
2000 Honda ST1100 (ex VIP)
2003 BMW K1200GT
2009 Yamaha FJR1300

All bikes will be re-fitted with all their period correct equipment, and then be used for public relations work.

I'm always up for a chat about police bikes, so pop in and say G'day if you have a chance.

Hi Alex.  Great concept.  Quite a few of us have loved (or are loving) our ex-Police STs.  Welcome, and be sure to keep posting.
Do you happen to know anything about the escort event in the photo you posted?
For the modern man who lives in the city, riding a bike might be one of the only ways to escape the humdrum monotony. To take off and ride. To be both at one with nature and one with the bike. To feel masculine. Adam Piggott

Hello policebikes, if you’re looking for parts I donated a 2000 ST1100 (ex VIP) and a 2002 ST1100 to Joe’s Motorcycles in Fyshwick, ACT.

I don't know which event it was, but I'll ask around and see if I can find out for you.

Hi policebikes and welcome from York, WA, you may be able to help with info on ex NSW police Z1000 which is about to be donated to our Motor Museum, I do not know what you have access to but all the info we can get is of interest.

So at what age does this "old enough to know better" kick in?
I believe in the "hereafter", every time I go to the shed I have to think "what am I here after"

Well that sounds exciting, and I'd love to help.
