If you're going to get serious about running wires through your ST you need help.
Getting wires routed around the head stem or down under the tank will do your own head in. Usually the wires aren't stiff enough to poke through and one solution is to poke through a stiffer wire with the required wire taped to it, then pulling both through to success.
The device depicted below can grab a wire or any other small object (e.g. a dropped screw down between the engine and the cowl DAMHIK

) and retrieve it. The "T" at the top works like an injection, except it pulls rather than pushes. The spring holds your object, except if it's reluctant to cooperate you need to add a bit of pressure to the T.
