By the way Mike, since we have your attention, have you seen this bike in your neck of the woods?  He said he lived in Port Augusta.

Saw this bike near Ballarat heading for Melbourne last Saturday afternoon, while I was heading home from RTE at Five Flags Hotel. There couldn't be two of them? Both rider and passenger waved furiously in return.

Reminds me of the one advertised on the Adventure Rider forum a while back.  :think1
That was in Adelaide, from memory...
I think it was West Aussie Glen that posted the link???

At the time I commented that perhaps Sue could buy it for me for Valentines Day... :grin

Just returning to the original topic for a moment... :whistle

This is from the "Drivers Handbook" for South Australian drivers...

I'm not sure what planet can guarantee "self assessment" provides for honest, unbiased, safe and accurate competency assessments for the majority of individuals, but it sure isn't this one.

After being hit by a 90 year old who couldn't describe the Policeman's facial features at 1 meter (he had a black goatee), and was not able find the policeman's black notebook on a white bonnet, I fully support a periodic review of a driver's fitness to drive.

Also a one whose eyesight is slowly getting worse, I'm pragmatic enough to realise that at some point, I'll have to hand in my licence and for good reason. Naturally I will miss it, but I wouldn't want to do to someone else, what was done to me.

I permanently wear glasses.

However as people age there are:
Cataracts
Macular degeneration
Myopia
Diabetes
and many other diseases which can permanently damage eyesight.

Also, reflexes fade with age, some earlier than others.
