Mmmm .... if they put the same level of stock (as usual) in Melbourne metro shops, I reckon that they'll have a fair bit unsold, as for Melb, I don't think that motorcycle gear and accessories are classed as necessary goods.

Re. their products:
  • Helmets - wouldn't bother
  • Base layers - pretty good on one previous occasion
  • Jeans - as per base layers
  • Socks - wouldn't bother
  • Gloves - wouldn't bother
  • Bluetooth - wouldn't bother
  • Bags - pretty good on one previous occasion
  • Cover - pretty good on one previous occasion

There's not much to interest me with their "Sale" either...

Aldi just don't seem to have the variety that they used to have.

Some years back Sue bought a jacket which was actually pretty good value...other than the back protector which felt more like a board, comfort wise! lol.

She also picked up a pair of short motorcycle boots which she's still using...

I did buy a pair of their gloves last year but as I ended up giving them to Kev I have no idea what they are like....  :thumbsup

I have a pair of their boots which have lasted me a few years but need replacing. Unfortunately boots dont seem to be included this time.

Base layers aren't too bad, but I prefer the merino ones.
Don't mind the sox - very good for the calf length Rossi m/cycle boots I wear.
Jeans are just ok for a fashion conscious chap like myself.

My youngest has the full kit from Aldi- Helmet, jacket, pants boots, and gloves, which I got him as a starter kit. Three years of the bike as his only transport and it is all still good.

I think I have the same jacket as RuSTynutz mentioned, and the base layer. I used to have a couple of the merino mid layer tops, but the moths got to them.

I will have a look this year, and might get a tank bag, like I need extra storage on an ST.

I bought 2 pair of the pants, and they fell apart. The crutch wasnt stitched properly on one and the right pocket fell apart on the other, lasted two weeks..

Does it fit an ST 1300?

Aldi medium fitted the XT600 or the Piaggio.

    eBay large fits the ST1300.

I didnt return them, lost the docket..
Iwill scan the next one with clothing, if there is a next time.

Even the electronics are pretty low quality.

It's a shame Motocap haven't tested any of the Aldi gear...at least then we may have some idea as to whether their gear is worth buying.

I read somewhere that Aldi changed suppliers a while back and since then their stuff hasn't been as good...  :think1

Our local Aldi have previously accepted returns and provided a refund when I just showed them the purchase date and amount details on my iPhone (through the bank App).

A scanned copy of the docket would be better though.

I've been happy with the gear.  I had the intent to get back into riding in 2016 and bought some gear thinking it'll get me going till I can get other gear.

I think the gear is made for cold climates, given some of the thickness.

My jeans have been good value and lasted well. I have heavy weight winter and rest of year jeans. I have a heavy weight jacket, also been good - my one complaint is that there is no removable liner. The leather jacket I got from there (after getting the heavy weight) is good, with a removable liner. In retrospect, this jacket would've been enough if I'd bought it first.

Still ok with the boots, although I did have to reglue the Velcro.

Socks fine, gloves ok, but not the armoured ones. The merino mid layer was eaten by moths, same as Dragonstaff.

The Bluetooth is ok for listening to music, I've had poor experience on the phone and speaking to Sandra when she's been pillion.

I was on the Aldi doorstep this morning for a new pair of riding jeans, and was able to get a some.     When I tried them on at home, the waist fit was fine, but the rest of the jeans looked like a had each leg in a wheat bag, so they went straight back for a no-fuss refund.   Cheap is not always best, and I'm off to the bike shops tomorrow to find a nice pair of riding jeans.

This was my disappointing experience with Aldi's jeans last September. I finished up with a pair of RST Cargo style jeans.

For those that are looking at buying a pair of bike jeans it's worth checking out the different brand ratings on the "Motocap" website as the protection & comfort offered varies considerably...  :thumbs

    https://tinyurl.com/5824b9p5

Unfortunately it's like most things, if you want the best you usually have to pay a premium.

Aussie brand "Draggin Jeans" rate very highly, especially with their "Next Gen Seamless" jeans!  :rockon

No complaints about Aldi gloves, they are warm, comfortable, and keep the hands dry.

Just remembered I bought a full face helmet from them as well.

Mainly as a backup in case of need, but my BIL has used it when he has visited and we've gone for a ride on the bikes.

From memory, about the same standard as any other cheaper helmet, but reasonably light, comfortable enough, has internal sun shield and would take their bluetooth unit. It did let a fair bit of wind noise in though, more than I thought a full face would and possibly more than my LS2 flip face.
