Man Down
« on: September 02, 2021, 09:06:13 PM »
Just a FYI….

Captain Thunderbolt (Nev) from NSW has had a serious Tractor accident near his property over the weekend.

He has a number of busted bits and had an 8 hour surgery.

Mrs El Capitian Thunderbolt (Maria) advises the odd phone call or txt to Nev would be appreciated particularly as due to our current lockdown visitation is an issue.

Maria will endeavour to get the laptop to him to log on in the near future, naturally he will have a substantial recovery process ahead of him.

Regards

Chris

Tractors can be very unforgiving.

I hope the recovery and rehabilitation are as short as possible.

Bloody Hell Nev....    So sorry to read about your accident, and pray that you will have a quick and complete recovery.   We also wish Maria well as she supports you and copes without you being on the farm for a while.

Nearly 4 weeks on now- hope your recovery is going well, Nev.  Still haven't seen a post by you.  Won't Maria let you have the laptop?
For the modern man who lives in the city, riding a bike might be one of the only ways to escape the humdrum monotony. To take off and ride. To be both at one with nature and one with the bike. To feel masculine. Adam Piggott

Was talking to Nev at the beginning of December and they were both in good health and Nev was heading back to hospital for his next round of rehab the day after
He has been getting around the farm in a side by side buggy he is able to walk a little bit on crutches
I am planning on ringing him in the new year so I will get an update for you
Have a great new year everyone

Update on Nev
When he went to rehab in December he was able to walk 105 meters when he left he was able to walk 270 meters on crutches
Today he is moving around small distances with out crutches  he went for a short ride on the small motor bike but when he got back he thinks he will leave that for a few more weeks
With  help to get in the tractor he is then able drive it and make hay for some of his customers
He is slowly mending and is in good spirit
March is his next round of doctor visits
