Saturday morning arrived and we couldn't have asked for better weather, just perfect for the ride to Tinamba...
Sue and I headed across To Morwell then made our way via Tyers to Glengarry.
With plenty of time up our sleeve before our 2pm check in time at "Happy Days" accommodation in Tinamba we decided to call in to Cowwarr Weir.
Sue had mentioned to Chippy that morning that it was a nice place to visit but it was still a pleasant surprise when, upon arrival, JD & Vera were there.
They very generously shared their yummy food and drink...Thanks guys!
Shortly after we headed to Tinamba, which was less than half an hour away.
After checking in we relaxed and awaited our El Presidente & his better half to arrive...
Okay, decision time...where were we going to eat?
In the end we decided to just eat in the Bar at the Tinamba Pub which was within staggering distance which I think suited Michael...
While not the cheapest place to eat, the food ended up quite good and I think everyone was happy with the meals they chose.
All too soon it was bed time for us old folk...
Awake early, Sue & I headed for the kitchen.
We had cooked and nearly finished our bacon & eggs before Vera & JD arrived, followed some time later by Michael & Helen...I guess they needed their beauty sleep!
With dishes washed and put away, it was time to pack bags in preparation for departure but not before a photo with the bikes & flag.
With that done we all headed for Briagolong for a coffee.
This ended badly with nothing open so the decision was made to head to Maffra...
After coffee/hot chocolate we then went our separate ways...For us it was to Rosedale, where we then turned off the highway and headed for home the long way via Yarram, Welshpool, Foster and Leongatha.
Oh, we ended up detouring to Port Welshpool after I foolishly suggested stopping off there for a late lunch of fish & chips...I'm not sure it did wonders for our diets, but the flake and sweet potato chips were delicious!!!
All in all, yet another great RTE!
Vera & JD at Cowwarr Weir Waiting on El Presidente & Helen... Still waiting... While the pool looked amazing, it wasn't heated so we declined on a swim... A couple of the locals stopped in for a visit... For this RTE we may have been small in number but we had the cream of the crop!
