ANOTHER PayPal scam :-(
« on: May 23, 2012, 12:24:38 PM »
Hi Everyone,

don't know it this one has been mentioned here before so  . .. .
Received an email yesterday morning claiming to be an advise of purchase and sent to me by PayPal Aust. -  for AUS $87.43

This email said this purchase would show up on my PayPal account shortly - included was a 'link' advising me to click on for any enquiries - - ALARM BELLS RINGING !   :eek    :-(((   :cuss

Knowing that I haven't used my PayPal account for a couple of months, and change my password every so often, I logged on and found nothing had been billed or request for payment made.

Googled up the 'sellers' details from the email  ->     eBay International AG (AU) AdCommerce - EOM@ebay.com
Nice long list of complains and scam warnings. Some got their money back by acting quickly - some where not as lucky.  >:(

Contacted PayPal Aust and forwarded the email to them at - spoof@patpal.com.au
Short time later receive the usual  " Thank you " email back from PayPal saying they have been getting a lot of the same thing from other account holders.

Just a reminder to keep an eye on your PayPal account and double check everything claiming to be from them.

STILL MISSING MY ST1100P  !     :'(

I get emails every day telling me I have won a lotto some where in the world, or different versions of the nigerian scam.
These gutless cowards will never stop trying to steal any ones money.

But they will not be getting mine thats for sure

If an email purporting to be from paypal doesn't use my name I delete it as junk. Every legit correspondence I've had from them is directed to me, not 'Dear Paypal user' . What I have trouble understanding is that there are still heaps of people who get caught in scams and lose truckloads of money, despite the number of warnings that are constantly given out.

Agreed with wondering how people get caught out scams without your correct name, PayPal I.D, etc. - thought I'd mention this one because the sender used my fleabay ID in the email - not quite the usual for a run of the mill scam.  B@$T@RD$ !   :cuss   :cuss   :cuss

If I believe this I could be $15,000,000 or therabouts richer. Received this e-mail today. Deposit into my paypal account is what I usually tell them and never hear from them again......lol. I left contact details out.......

Compliment Of The Day!

It is understandable that you might be a little bit apprehensive because you do not know me but I have a lucrative business proposal of mutual benefits to share with you.

Let me start by introducing myself. I am Mr. Cheng Chee Leong operations manager of the Bank of China (Malaysia) Berhad, I have an obscured Business suggestion for you.

In June, 2004, a certain Japanese Independent Contractor (Mr. Takayama Ujiie) came to our bank and made a Fixed (Numbered) deposit of Thirty Million United State Dollars (US$30,000,000.00) Only in my branch for 12 calendar months. Upon maturity, I sent a routine notification to his forwarding address but got no reply. A month later, we sent a reminder and finally we discovered from his contract employers, the Japan Solar Energy Corporation that he died from an automobile accident. On further investigation, I found out that he died without making a WILL, and all attempts to trace his next of kin was fruitless.

After proper further investigations, it was also discovered that he did not declare any next of kin in his official papers including the paper work of his bank deposit and he also confided in me the last time he was in my office that no one except me knew of his deposit in my bank. So, Thirty Million United State Dollars is still lying in my bank and no one will ever come forward to claim it. What bothers me most is that according to Laws of Malaysia, at the expiration of seven {7} years the funds will revert to the ownership of the Malaysia Government if nobody applies to claim the funds. What I wish to relate to you will smack of unethical practice but I want you to understand something, It is only an outsider to the banking world who finds the internal politics of the banking world aberrational. The world of private banking especially is fraught with huge rewards for those who occupy certain offices and oversee certain portfolios. You should have begun by now to put together the general direction of what

Against this backdrop, my suggestion to you is that I will like you as a foreigner to stand as the next of kin so that you will be able to receive the funds so that the fruits of this old man's labour will not get into the hands of some corrupt government officials just like that.

MODALITIES:

I want you to know that I have had everything planned out so that we shall come out successful. I shall employ the services of an attorney that will prepare the necessary document that will back you up as the next of kin, and also he will be drafting and notarization the WILL and to obtain the necessary documents and letter of probate/administration in your favour for the transfer. There is a reward for this project and it is a task well worth undertaking. There is no risk involved at all in this transaction as all the paperwork for this transaction will be done by the attorney and my position as the Branch Manager guarantees the successful execution of this transaction.

I have evaluated the risks and the only risk I have here is for you refusing to work with me and alerting my bank. I am the only one who knows of this situation, good fortune has blessed you with a name that has planted you into the center of relevance in my life. Please endeavour to observe utmost discretion in all matters concerning this issue. Once the funds have been transferred to your nominated bank account we shall share in the ratio of 50% for me, 50% for you. I send you this mail not without a measure of fear as to what the consequences, but I know within me that nothing ventured is nothing gained and that success and riches never come easy or on a platter of gold. Please observe this instruction religiously. Note that there maybe legal charges attached to this claim.

And I will prefer you reach me back on this email and finally after that I shall furnish you with more information’s about this operation. Your earliest response to this letter will be appreciated.

Do not betray my confidence. If we can be of one accord, we should plan a meeting soon after this project is complete. Please observe utmost confidentiality, and rest assured that this transaction would be most profitable for both of us because I shall require your assistance to invest my share in your country.

Kind Regards,

Cheng Chee Leong.

Congratulations Allan...........dam, I wish he'd picked me! :cuss

Pretty similar to the ones I used to receive almost every second day during the last 4-5 years of being in the workforce.
With the sir name of "Bishop" I also had many of them believing I was a, Bishop of the church, so many were addressed to me accordingly.  They're the scum of the earth.................it's surprising just how many suckers are taken in!  :fp

Allan,

is you surname Japanese?

If not you can pass him on to me as I have the Japanese surname of Roper, pronounced Itchynacker.

Hey Roper.........Itchi means one in Japanese................this would explain why you look a little lopsided when you're sitting on your bike.

Looks like you've rendered him speechless.  None of us could work out how to do that!   :law
For the modern man who lives in the city, riding a bike might be one of the only ways to escape the humdrum monotony. To take off and ride. To be both at one with nature and one with the bike. To feel masculine. Adam Piggott

No one has asked you to do so, but you might not have a lot of say in it, lopsided one!

I had a friend once who had a similar problem and he found by carrying a lead sinker in the opposite pocket of his trousers it helped him to balance the lean. I'd suggest you begin with a small/very small macadamia nut, and if you find that too heavy it's just a matter of chewing a little off it until the weight is equal on each side. It may then be less obvious to those riding behind you that have a small disability!!

And you can't blame anyone for this, onenut, after all.....you started it!!

I wonder if Diesel has read this thread yet!
