I bought a Neotech 2 a couple of days ago.  It's by far the quietest helmet I've ever owned.  My old helmet is a Shoei Ryd which did the job but was ageing faster than me.  Had to pay a small fortune.  AMX here in Brisbane have a Clearance Warehouse at Morayfield and have an XL in the Neotech 2 for $899 ($200 off RRP) but it was too big for my modest head and even saying I'd buy bigger cheek pads the lovely lass would sell it to me.  I found a white one (my preference) in L at their Virginia store.  They gave me $50 off when I started crying about the injustice of it all.

No offence Bill, but you must have a big head!  |-i

Yeah, you can't stuff a decent sized brain into an "M" box, apparently.   :p x2

My previous Shoei was an M because they wouldn't let me have an L.  I went home, took the cheek pads out, opened the covers, shaved the foam padding down, restitched the cloth covers and have been comfortable ever since.

You must be a very cool, calm and collected guy Bill.  I would not be as receptive to an inadequate fit after paying four figures for a helmet.

And I add, isn't nice to be able to read, rather than scroll through posts?

I’ve had a Neotec XL since 2014, now thinking of replacing it with the 3 and the tailor made Sena . . $1,299 & $599 respectively! Tempting, but not sure how many more years riding I have left in me . . May end up being a very expensive rate per kilometre?

I have a Neotec 2 which replaced my Neotec which got damaged in my fall in Adelaide
I have the tailored made Sena headset which works well
The Neotec 2 is a great helmet so I imagine the Neotec 3 to be better again if that is possible

I bought a Neotech 2 a couple of days ago.  It's by far the quietest helmet I've ever owned.

Fascinating observation Bill. Ruth and I are in the market for new lids. My current helmet is anything but quiet.  I tried on a Neotec2 and 3 today and they do seem very snug and quiet, in the shop anyway.

There seem to be two completely opposing opinions about the quietness of a modular helmet compared to a regular full-face. Some say that the modular will always be noisier because of turbulence and leakage due to the flip design. Others say the opposite and point to the much chunkier neck roll designed into a modular helmet.

We have until October to settle on some new headgear.   :think1
