A random memory from the past when touring with my buddy in the early 70's
We were on a slow run from Brisbane to Sydney because of multiple early morning trucks in both directions with nowhere to pass safely until we  were well south towards the Gold Coast.
Jeff decided that we should stop at a servo for a quick drink, and then sat on the driveway to finish it.
The multitude of trucks that we had struggled to pass earlier then growled past and we lost so much time that we ended up booking into a motel at Coffs Harbour and continued to Sydney the following day. What had originally been planned as a 12 hour run took us a full two days to achieve.
