No joy from the wrecker, and repair #2 lasted even less time than #1, so I plated it for the third attempt.
I have also fitted everything back where it should be, but that leaves the screen very close to the dash, and with the bars hitting it on full lock. Now I know why it was modified in the first place. To allow for an aftermarket screen that isn't really right.
Oh well, at least it gives me a good excuse now to go for a Bikequip screen.
